Services at St Barnabas Church

Weekly services and events

9:30 am: Worship with hymns. The service is usually a Eucharist following the form set within the Church of England’s ‘Common Worship’ series. Click here to see a poster.

10:00 am: Bible study. We meet for an hour, studying the scriptures and relating them to our own daily lives. Click here to see a poster.

10:00 am: Holy Communion (said). The service lasts about half an hour. Click here to see a poster.

4:30 pm: Fab = Faith at Barnabas! A service for children including an age-appropriate Bible message. Click here to see a poster.

Monthly services

First Wednesday of the month
Holy Communion at Alexandra House Nursing Home on Park Road at 11:15 am.



Occasion services

You may want a special service such as a baptism (often called a christening), a wedding or blessing, or a funeral. To arrange such a service, please contact our Vicar to book a suitable date and time.

We will always try to accommodate your needs to make it just right.

Annual services

We hold a variety of special Services during the year.

Regular examples include Palm Sunday, Holy Week and Easter; Whit (Pentecost) Sunday often followed by a walk and family barbecue event; Harvest; All Saints’ and All Souls’; Advent; and all the special occasions that make Christmas so magical … the list is long and feeds the soul.
